Paris, Normandy & The Loire Valley

Highlights of our Paris itinerary include the iconic Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe, the magnificent Notre-Dame Cathedral and Sacré-Cœur Basilica, the Louvre and Musée d’Orsay, Napoleon’s Tomb at the Musée de l’Armée, dinner on Montmartre and a ride down the Seine on the Bateaux-Mouches.

Highlights of our Normandy itinerary include the depiction of the Norman Conquest of England on the Bayeux Tapestry, and a day exploring the Battle of Normandy with our own private historian.

Highlights of the Loire include Château de Chenonceau stretching romantically across the River Cher, the magnificent Château Chambord designed by Leonardo DaVinci, and the light show at Château de Blois.


1AirborneMeet your Group Director at the airport for an overnight flight to France!
2BayeuxArrive in Paris and take train to Bayeux. Navigate to hotel, check in, and unpack. Meet in lobby for orientation walk around town. Explore inside Bayeux Cathedral, then follow the story of the Norman Conquest of England as depicted on the Bayeux Tapestry. Find a restaurant for kickoff dinner.
Morning tour of Omaha Sector, brought to life by Spielberg/Hanks in “Saving Private Ryan”. Afternoon following the actions of “Easy Company” highlighted by Spielberg/Hanks in “Band of Brothers”.
4ParisTrain to Paris and navigate to the hotel. Orientation walk including Île de la Cité, Île Saint-Louis, Le Marais, and Bastille. On the walk we’ll grab an ice-cream at Bertillon, explore inside Notre Dame Cathedral, and if time permits we’ll ascend the tower and/or descend into the crypt. Dinner in the Latin Quarter followed by a night ascent of the Eiffel Tower.
5VersaillesDescend into the Catacombs of Paris. Train to Versailles Palace & Gardens. Enjoy lunch on the Grand Canal before finding Le Grand Trianon, Le Petit Trianon and Le Petit Hameau de la Reine. Tour inside the palace then head to Montmartre. Take in the view from the steps of Sacré-Cœur Basilica and have dinner in Place Tertre. Day ends with a night ascent of the Eiffel Tower.
6ParisExplore the Musée du Louvre then cross the Seine to visit Napoleon’s Tomb at Les Invalides. Lunch at the Musée de l’Armée then stroll up the Champs-Élysées and ascend l’Arc de Triomphe. Early dinner on the Champs-Élysées, then evening train to Blois.
7BloisExplore the Quartier Vieux Blois before lunch and then head out to Château de Chambord. Explore Eglise St-Nicholas and Château de Blois before dinner.
8BloisDaytrip to Château de Chenonceau. Shopping & Farewell Dinner in Blois.
