Highlights of our stay in Madrid include a day in Segovia with its enormous Roman Aqueduct, spending time with a sword smith in Toledo before visiting the spectacular Gothic Cathedral, a guided walk through old Madrid, exploring inside the Royal Palace, studying the works of Goya, Velázquez, Titian, Rubens, and Bosch at the Prado, before comparing them with works by Picasso and Dali at the Museo Reina Sofia, an excursion out to El Escorial with its tombs of Spanish Monarchs, Estadio Bernabeu, Templo de Debod, a picnic in Parque del Retiro and a Flamenco evening. Our hotel in Madrid, located at the heart of the city, is walking distance from the best flamenco, tapas, churros, paella, and jamón ibérico in Madrid.

3MadridClimb to the cupola of the Cathedral de la Almudena for a panoramic view of Madrid. Enjoy a professionally guided walking tour of the city, and then grab lunch at Mercado de San Miguel. Enjoy a late-afternoon visit to the Museo del Prado. Stroll to Parque de la Montaña along Gran Via and catch the sunset at Templo de Debod.
4El EscorialTravel to the foothills of the Sierra de Guadarrama to tour El Escorial, then return to Madrid and see Estadio Bernabeu, home of the Real Madrid soccer team. See the works of Picasso and Dali at the Museo Reina Sofia.
5ToledoDay trip to Toledo on the fast train - spend the morning visiting the Cathedral of Toledo, Museo del Ejército, and the workshops of independent swordsmiths and jewelry makers; spend the afternoon exploring the neighborhoods, city walls, and monasteries of the city; take some time to shop before climbing the tower of Iglesia de San Ildefonso for a panoramic view of the city. Relax over dinner at Plaza de Zocodover.
6SegoviaDay trip to Segovia on the fast train - spend the morning walking along the Roman Aqueduct and visiting the Cathedral of Segovia; spend the afternoon exploring the city; take some time to shop before touring the Alcázar and climbing it’s tower to catch the sunset. Enjoy Segovia’s world famous Cochinillo Asado for dinner.
7MadridRelax in the Parque del Buen Retiro, shopping along Gran Vía, and getting ready for an evening of Flamenco.
